Work
Selected projects from the studio. Residential and mid-density work where visualization had to sell the idea before construction.
Mahonia NW —Willamette Valley
For Mahonia NW's 32-unit cottage pocket neighborhood in Oregon's Willamette Valley, DL Viz produced the architectural visualizations used to sell the vision to investors and build community and city support before a single unit broke ground. Inspired by Ross Chapin's Pocket Neighborhoods, the renderings needed to feel lived-in, not "rendered": lush, intentionally wild English-cottage-garden landscaping in place of manicured lawns, a mix of single-family and duplex cottages gathered around a shared green, and photorealistic residents of all ages walking, gardening, and relaxing in the central courtyard. DL Viz locked camera composition through a white-box approval pass before committing to full detail, then delivered an aerial "hero shot" of the full cluster alongside a porch-level view looking into the community courtyard. That imagery became core visuals in Mahonia NW's offering documents, marketing materials, and city approval presentations.
HIVE — Newberg, Oregon
Five different builders broke ground on the same 10-unit residential development in Newberg, Oregon, mixing modular, low-carbon concrete blocks, and non-combustible construction on one site. HumanKind Homes needed a single, cohesive set of visuals that could sell the whole vision to investors and presale buyers before a single unit was finished. DL Viz built the complete 3D architectural visualization package for HIVE: an aerial site rendering bringing all the builder concepts together, eye-level courtyard and community-space renders, individual straight-on renders for each builder's unit, and a full site animation used across investor presentations and presale marketing. The result turned a genuinely complex multi-builder infill site into one photorealistic, walkable story, giving buyers and investors a picture of the community before it existed.
